Abstract Background Takotsubo cardiomyopathy, also known as “apical ballooning syndrome”, is generally precipitated by endogenous or exogenous stress. Eating disorders are associated with a variety of physical complications. Case presentation We present case involving 37-year-old Japanese female anorexia nervosa. She was admitted because emaciation shortness breath and tiredness, her weight 30.0 kg (BMI 10.5 kg/m 2 ) at this admission. On the afternoon first day hospitalization, simple measurement caused hypoglycemia (20 mg/dL), she lost consciousness. night second electrocardiogram showed negative T waves in II, III, aVf, V1–6. Ultrasound echo hypokinesia apex heart hypercontraction base heart. The left ventricular ejection fraction 20%. Rest oxygen administration gradually improved cardiac function; to 50% based on echocardiography. Finally, increased 43 15.2 psychiatric treatment, discharged.
